TreeAnnotator assists in summarizing the information from a sample of trees produced by BEAST onto a single “target” tree. The summary information includes the posterior probabilities of the nodes in the target tree, the posterior estimates and HPD limits of the node heights and (in the case of a relaxed molecular clock model) the rates.

BEAST is fast, flexible software for Bayesian analysis of molecular sequences related by an evolutionary tree. BEAST implements a family of Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms for Bayesian phylogenetic inference, divergence time dating, coalescent analysis, phylogeography, andrelated molecular evolutionary analyses. This package includes an enhanced graphical user interface program called BayesianEvolutionary Analysis Utility (BEAUti) that enables access to advanced models for molecular sequence and phenotypic trait evolution. The package also provides new tools for visualizing and summarizingmultispecies coalescent and phylogeographic analyses.
